8. Wedding Bulletin
The wedding bulletin is a guide for worship as well as a treasured memento for those attending the service. The order of service, congregational participation and names of participants are printed inside. Wedding bulletins can be printed at any commercial printer. The wedding coordinator can provide you with sample bulletin covers. It is your responsibility to order or pick up bulletins at a church supply store such as The Lighthouse. The information to be included in the bulletin should be proofed by a pastor at least one week prior to your wedding, and before a large number of copies of the bulletin are printed. Please include the following wording in the bulletin: "Please do not use flash photography during the worship service."
BULLETIN TIPS:
  • When referring to the altar of the church, the word is spelled altar, not alter.
  •  Verify with your musicians the correct spelling of musical titles and composer's names. For example,  Pachelbel's Canon is not spelled 'Cannon.' Your musicians can check the sheet music for correct spellings.
  •  Double-check the spelling of your names, the pastor's name, and the names of members of the wedding party.
  • Use spell-check, but be careful! People's names may be changed, and spell-checkers may change Pachelbel's CANON to CANNON. There is a difference. CTK's Director of Music will help you verify correct spellings of musical terms upon request.
  • If you want the pastor to double-check the bulletin, mail or e-mail, bring or fax a copy of the bulletin to the officiating pastor at Christ the King well before you send it to the printer. The pastor will proofread the bulletin for church-related spelling errors. Please allow at least a few days; pastor's schedules can change due to emergencies.
