Jr. High Grades 7 & 8
Confirming Lutheran Understand & Beliefs

- CLUB 78 – As our seventh and eighth graders transition through their Christian education at Christ the King to the next phase of their life in our congregation, CLUB 78 (Confirming Lutheran Understanding and Beliefs) offers them the opportunity to explore and grow into their own faith – to find that sustaining connection between faith and their daily lives. It also prepares them to take that message of faith and hope and share it with others.
- CLUB 78 is built around an active Wednesday evening beginning with Community Supper and Wednesday Night Worship. Youth are assigned to a small group and participate in Wednesday Night Worship with their families and their small group. Worship is followed by a large group theme event, small group, reflection, prayer and a blessing.
- Supporting CLUB 78’s participation and success, are there primary, off-site practices – Home Huddles, Pneuma Nudgings and Retreat Ministry. Each week, CLUB 78 members are provided with a Home Huddle guide. These guides equip parents to engage in a nightly Home Huddle where the family members share highs and lows, a verse of scripture and examine how the two relate as well as prayers and a blessing. Home Huddles are based on the theme that was introduced that week at the large group theme event.
- As a way to help create awareness of the activity of the Holy Spirit in their lives, CLUB 78 members are encouraged to complete and submit a Pneuma Nudging weekly. The Nudgings can take the form of a drawing, poem, song or statement of how the Holy Spirit spoke to them.
- In addition to the weekly activities of CLUB 78, each grade will have an overnight retreat to provide a bonding experience while delving into a specific area of their faith.
