Baby Care Kits

Project Promise Baby Care Kits are distributed as part of emergency relief efforts but they are also given to encourage expectant women to seek prenatal care. Help welcome the littlest ones into a caring international community and swaddle them with love! During our Faith in Motion services this year we are collecting items or loose change to purchase them. This collection, that’s begun recently, will continue until February, when we will put the kits together during a family service event.

Each kit will need the following:

  • TWO lightweight cotton t-shirts (no Onesies ®)
  • TWO long- or short-sleeved gowns or sleepers (without feet)
  • TWO receiving blankets (medium-weight cotton or flannel, or crocheted or knitted with lightweight yarn, between 36” and 52” square)
  • FOUR cloth diapers (flat fold preferred)
  • ONE jacket, sweater or sweatshirt with a hood, or include a baby cap
  • TWO pairs of socks, ONE hand towel (dark color recommended)
  • TWO or three bath-size bars of gentle soap (8 to 9 oz., any brand, in original wrapping; no mini or hotel size bars,)
  • TWO diaper pins or large safety pins.

 Some important guidelines to remember.

  • Please include sizes between 6 and 24 months.
  • Sweaters may be knitted or crocheted, or made from heavy double knits or fleece. Select a pattern that suits your skill level. Preferred styles have buttons or ties down the front.
  • Diapers can be made from flannel or even by recycling t-shirts. Receiving blankets can be knitted or crocheted.
  • Onesies can be cut and hemmed or serged to make a simple t-shirt.
  • Gowns, rompers or top/pants sets can be substituted for sleepers.
  • Please give new items only, except where otherwise noted.
  • Please do not donate items with any religious symbols, messages or your group’s name.
  • Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag, patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including camouflage.
  • Contact Wendy for diaper and gown patterns to sew.
JAM

JAM LogoSunday mornings: 9:15-10:15am

The Workshop Rotation model is used for JAM, and children focus on five rotations per year. During each rotation, children rotate to a different, creative, kid-pleasing workshop each week of the rotation. The entire rotation – every workshop, every week – is focused on learning one important Bible story or lesson. Each workshop is implemented with different learning styles to promote Bible literacy. Each rotation culminates in a Faith in Motion worship service that is geared toward children and their families.

O my people, hear my teaching, listen to the words of my mouth.  We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done.  …which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them…and they in turn would tell their children.  ~ Psalm 78:1-6
